The Society manages nearly 500 homes which include general needs homes owned by Tamar, shared ownership and leasehold properties, and houses on the HouseLet scheme which is one of Plymouth City Councils projects to move homeless families out of bed and breakfast accommodation.
In a satisfaction survey recently undertaken, 79 per cent of residents thought that Tamar Housing Societys service was improving and 91 per cent were satisfied or very satisfied with Tamars overall service. The Societys housing key performance indicators have also shown improvements over the last 12 months with rent arrears continuing to fall and void times remaining very low at an average of 10.61 days (4.5 days when exceptional cases, for example houses needing major repair, are removed). The Society let 64 general needs homes over the year ending 31st March 2007 16 of them new properties and 48 re-lets to residents that include homeless families and single people, and residents of other housing associations.
