Resident Engagement

Tamar Housing Society aims to give residents a real opportunity to make a difference to the way their homes are managed. One resident is a Board Member and they have direct input into the overall strategic direction of the organisation.Two additional residents have shown an interest in becoming Board Members

The Residents' Group has been set up as a consultative group made up of a cross section of the organisation's residents. The group meeets regularly to discuss issues of common interest. This year the group has looked at service reviews and has been involved in looking at Tamar's approach to complaints and tenant recharges.

Individual schemes continue to operate residents' associations and Tamar remains committed to giving choice to residents wherever possible. Residents are consulted on any changes which may affect their homes - for example, the major repairs programme. Tamar undertook initiatives such as the partnership with HOPE Credit Union and will continue to look for innovative and useful ways of engaging with tenants.
